Spring Essentials

Seeing as though its nearly Spring I thought I would share some of my ‘Spring Essentials’ with you. I was going to keep it to just beauty but I then thought ‘why not just cover everything’ so thats what I’ve decided to do – I’m going to include beauty, fashion, skincare and then some random essentials which I have decided to put into a handbag category because its basically everything that gets thrown into my handbag. So lets get started..

Beauty Essentials

For me Spring is all about the light makeup to go with the pretty dresses and flowy tops. So I like to keep my eyeshadow nice and light and this Spring I will probably be reaching for my trusty Charlotte Tilbury Golden Goddess eyeshadow palette. You can create so many looks with this palette to go from day to night all while keeping your makeup super light. Once your makeup is all done and outfit sorted (for my fashion essentials please keep reading ;)) you need some perfume and my usual choice would be Chanel Chance but for a while now I have been loving a Zara perfume in the scent Oriental. Its such a subtle perfume but I am obsessed. Its got a slightly floral scent to it but then kind of musky at the same time (if that makes any sense – if not then go give it a smell.)IMG_3405Fashion Essentials

You never know what the weather is going to be like in any season here in the UK but Spring can sometimes get quite chilly even when the sun is out so I always like to have a scarf with me just incase the wind picks up. I have a slight obsession with scarves and have quite a lot but I am loving this light blue one at the moment. These scarves are really good because they are a nice light material that can be kept in your handbag, without taking up too much room, or to just throw on over your outfit.IMG_3401Skincare Essentials

Moisturiser is always a must for me but sometimes you need a little bit extra just to get you through the cold months. My firm faves are definitely the Body Shop Aloe Soothing Day Cream and the Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream. I always talk about these products so if you want to know more feel free to check out this post. Another skincare essentials is a face mask because I don’t know about you but when the seasons change, so does my skin! So to try and help it out a bit I have been using the Liz Earle Deep Cleansing mask. Its absolutely brilliant at getting rid of any blemishes. I actually included it in my last post so feel free to check that out for more information.

Handbag Essentials

I decided to name this category ‘handbag essentials’ because this is basically all the little extras that I need and just throw in my handbag. First up is hand cream, my hands are always so dry when its cold so hand cream is definitely an essential. I always use the Body Shop hand creams because they work and all smell amazing! My favourite at the moment is Vanilla Pumpkin, which may have been an Autumn limited edition scent, but its so amazing they should make it an all year round product. Another things I always like to have with me is a hairbrush because when that wind picks up and you’ve just spent ages on your hair, its not an ideal situation! So a hairbrush is a MUST!IMG_3404I could probably include a few more but then this post would be ridiculously long and no-one would read it so the above are my main Spring Essentials. I hope you enjoyed this post. Let me know your Spring Essentials in the comments and we can can chat about how exciting it is that its finally getting slightly warmer and lighter in the mornings/evenings!

Favourite High Street Store

So we all love shopping right? Yes of course we do, who doesn’t love spending money you don’t have on stuff you don’t really need?! Because we all love it I thought I would write about my current favourite store with you and share some of the things that I have found on their website and really want to purchase.. some of which I may have bought just before I started writing this, which means there may also be a haul sometime soon too 🙂

So my favourite high street store at the moment is H&M. Its affordable, the clothes are super nice, good quality and the home section is absolutely stunning! What I like about H&M is although they have some more questionable items of clothing (but which clothes store doesn’t), most of their clothes are actually really nice and they have a lot that I would actually wear. I am really loving the ‘basics’ section at the moment, especially for long sleeved work tops. The homeware section is amazing and I want to buy absolutely everything. I recently got my cushion covers from H&M and I am so happy with them. If you want to see which ones I got just head over to my Quick Catch Up post as I shared a picture of them there.

Now onto my H&M wishlist..

Striped Dress – I really like this dress! Its from the basics collection but it looks such good quality and would be good for work or a casual event.

Embroidered Blouse – This is super pretty and again would be good for lots of different occasions. I am really into shirts so I had to include this on my list.

Petit Fit Skinny Jeans – I have just ordered these jeans as I am currently on the hunt for a new pair and thought these looked really good as well as being super affordable.

Long-sleeved Jersey Top – These tops are just the best. I wear them for work, for casual events and to chill around the house. They look great tucked in or out and I want it in every colour!!

Knitted Wool-blend Cardigan – Cardigans are definitely something that I need more of, especially super cosy ones like this. I think this looks really soft and I’m now gutted that I didn’t add it to my order.

Knitted Cotton-blend Blanket – I love blankets and always have one wrapped around me when chilling on the sofa. This one looks really cosy as well and isn’t too expensive.

Candle Tray – This kind of homeware piece is really in at the moment and I really like them. I would probably use this to put my perfumes on.. it would also be good for blog/Instagram pictures.

Striped Cotton Rug – I am obsessed with rugs at the moment and really want a long rug for my hallway. This one would be perfect – now to convince my partner to let me buy it ;).

I hope you enjoyed this post. What is your favourite store at the moment?

Day in the City!

Chilled/unplanned weekends are my absolute favourite. Don’t get me wrong I love having plans but when you have an unexpected great weekend I just love it. Last weekend my boyfriend and I ventured into Manchester city centre because I needed to get some more bits for our holiday. We shopped, explored, had cream tea in a little cafe that we have wanted to go to for ages, shopped some more and then had a lovely walk around Salford Quays which is where I, finally, decided to take some pictures of my outfit. I had been trying to find a decent (quiet) place to take pictures all day but kept on putting it off because there was too many people!! So when we were walking around Salford Quays, it was relatively quiet, I just decided to get it done!!Photo 02-09-2017, 18 01 27Because I knew we would be walking around Manchester all day I went for a comfy outfit and flat shoes, plus it was nice weather so wanted to wear some sort of sandals. I have had this top for a couple of months now and I absolutely love it! It’s pretty, comfy and really brings an outfit together and its from Primark which makes it even better. I really like the style and on the back there is a criss cross pattern just at the top which just adds something extra. The only downside is that it gets creased quite easily, especially if you are wearing it all day, which is why it looks a little creased in these pictures.Photo 02-09-2017, 18 01 30 (1)These jeans are my favourite jeans at the moment. The fit is lovely, the colour is perfect and they are so comfortable. They are from Stradivarius which is a shop I have never heard of before until it came to the Trafford Centre earlier this year and its now one of my favourite shops! I really like the rips on the knees and the distressing as well. I have rolled them up just a little bit at the bottom as well.Photo 02-09-2017, 18 01 32Photo 02-09-2017, 18 01 39My shoes are quite new to my collection and they are from Ego which is another shop that is quite new to me but I saw these in the sale a few weeks back and knew I had to have them. I had been looking for a pair of espadrilles for a while and these ticked all the boxes for me. They are also really comfortable, which as you may be able to tell is a big thing for me!! They also remind me of Valentino shoes because of the studs.Photo 02-09-2017, 18 02 28I finished the look off with my Kate Spade purple handbag and Olivia Burton watch. This is the bag I use everyday because its big enough to fit in everything I need but its not too big for walking around all day. I also feel like it goes with pretty much anything. I have also been wearing my Olivia Burton watch a lot recently and I’ve been loving it. Its so pretty and if I could I would buy every single watch from them because they are all stunning.

Let me know what your favourite high street shops are at the moment. I would say mine is currently New Look.

Kate Spade Cedar Street Maise

Hey guys! Hope you have had a good week and are now enjoying the weekend! I was very lucky this Christmas and my lovely boyfriend got me a Kate Spade handbag. I got the Cedar Street Maise in the colour Mahogany and it is absolutely beautiful, I feel very lucky! Because I have a new handbag I thought I would do a what’s in my bag as I think I did my last one 2 years ago and some things may have changed. Let me know in the comments one thing you always have in your handbag and before I ramble on any more, lets get into what I think of this handbag and what I have in it..

img_3142

So I absolutely love this handbag as it is very pretty to look at but it is also the perfect size bag for me. It’s slightly smaller than what I would usually go for but I wanted a smaller bag so that I can’t cram so much rubbish into it which means it doesn’t get heavy as I hate lugging round a heavy handbag! I love how simple this bag is, it makes it easy to wear and will go with pretty much anything and the gold hardware is a nice light gold which goes perfectly with the mahogany colour. I much prefer bags with this crosshatched leather design as just incase it ever gets scratched its less obvious then it would be on a smooth leather bag. You get the choice of straps as well, with the two straps that you can see but there is also a cross body strap that can be clipped on and removed. It’s quite simple inside with the usual zip pocket and then the two slide pockets which I find super useful. Overall, I am in love with this handbag and have used it every day because I can’t stand to leave it behind!

img_3147

What I always have in my handbag..

  • Makeup Bag – I never leave the house without this as you never know when you may need to re-apply!
  • House Keys – No-one wants to be locked out plus I love my grey heart keyring (might have to get one the same colour as my bag :D)
  • Purse – This purse was an absolute bargain from TK Maxx. Its a Paul Costelloe purse and I’m pretty sure it was supposed to be like £90 but I got it for £20 – bargain!!
  • Car Keys – I’m lazy and drive everywhere!
  • Hand Cream – My hands get so dry, especially round this time of year and the Body Shop hand creams work wonders. I especially love the Mango one.
  • Nivea Lip Balm – An absolute must in Winter and this Nivea one is really good plus when it gets to Summer its got SPF in so your lips are protected all year round!
  • Phone – I feel so lost if I ever forget my phone which is really sad but it’s always with me.
  • Hand Sanitiser – This always comes in handy, plus its Mango scented and I love everything Mango! The Body Shop scents are always amazing!

So that is everything I have in my handbag. All this fits in perfectly with room to spare so although it’s a smaller handbag it is still quite roomy!

I hope you enjoyed this post! Don’t forget to let me know the one thing you always have in your handbag.

See you soon!

Fashion & Beauty Haul!

Hey guys! I have a haul for you today and I am very excited! Before these shopping trips I hadn’t been shopping in ages because I moved in August so shopping was off the cards for a while but I finally did a little bit last weekend and I am very happy with my purchases!

So this is kind of in two parts as some things were bought on the Friday and some on Saturday but I was too excited on Friday and ended up taking the pictures Saturday morning before I went out, hense the two part pictures! On Friday I went to the Trafford Centre after work and they have a new shop there called Stradivarius, if you haven’t been then I highly recommend! It is affordable, good quality and the shop smells amazing!

img_3010

The striped shirt above is from Stradivarius, it was £15.99! I love how simple this looks yet if you tuck it into a pair of jeans or a pair of cigarette style trousers it looks super chic! These shirts come in all different colours and patterns! The Knitted Military Jacket below is also from Stradivarius. I love the military look and the gold buttons just make it look extra cool! This cardigan will go with anything and was only £25.99!

img_3014

The below wine printed shirt is from Pull & Bear and I haven’t been in or seen this shop for years, not since one of my trips to London which was probably about 3 years (ish) ago! They now have one in the Trafford Centre so I knew I had to go in! This is another shirt that will go with anything especially tucked into a pair of black jeans! I couldn’t believe it when I looked at the label and saw that it was only £12.99. They have loads more in different prints!

img_3013

Of course I had to pop into Lush and have a look at all the Halloween products and ended up coming out with the Lord of Misrule bath bomb. It smells absolutely amazing and turns the bath water a gorgeous red wine colour, a bit like the shirt above (smooooth)! ;). I also had to nip in to The Body Shop and pick up my fave primer – Instablur. I have a post all about this so feel free to have a read if you haven’t tried this yet!

img_3016

On the Saturday my partner and I went into Didsbury as we are trying to explore all the little towns near where we live. I came across this gorgeous little flower shop/boutique and literally could have bought everything but I held myself back and decided to get this super pretty top. It is so simple but I just loved the small detail on the arms. This would look so cute paired with some skinny jeans and heels for a night out! Its one of those tops that can be dressed up or down so its right up my street! This was also only £10!

img_3018

I needed some more mascara so nipped into Superdrug and came out with two things, pretty standard trip to Superdrug, but it was 2 for £10 on Rimmel products so a no brainer really! I got the Rimmel Volume Colourist mascara as I couldn’t decide which one to get so just stuck with one I have already tried. I also decided to pick up this eyeshadow palette as you really can’t go wrong with these shades, its called Smokey Brown 002. Perfect for creating a smokey eye for day or night as you get all the shades in one palette!

Thats it for this post, I hope you enjoyed it! Let me know in the comments if you would like to see any outfit posts with my new tops as I may just do that!

See you soon!

Fashion Wishlist!

Hello lovelies! I hope you are having a lovely weekend! I have decided to do a fashion wishlist today as there are so many things I would like to buy but because I am trying to save, save, save I cant :(. So here is everything I am trying not to buy…

Fashion Wishlist Collage Jan 2016

  1. ASOS Ridley Skinny Jeans – I live in black skinny jeans at the moment but I really want a pair with the rips in and these are my favourite I have seen so far!
  2. H&M Lace Blouse – This is absolutely beautiful! I am loving blouses like this at the moment as they are perfect for work but also for going out.
  3. Kurt Geiger Sebastien Wine Ankle Boots – I have had my eye on these for a long, long time! I very nearly bought them for myself at Christmas but decided against it as they are SO expensive! I still look at them every now and then online and in store – a girl can dream 😉
  4.  Mint Velvet Nola Print Batwing Knit – Mint Velvet is my new favourite shop. I don’t own anything from there but I always go in and wish I owned everything! This knit is absolutely gorgeous and so different!
  5. Mint Velvet Navy Hooded Trench Coat – This whole wishlist was very nearly just a Mint Velvet wishlist but I managed to stop myself! This coat is so gorgeous and I need a coat for Spring time as I only really have a winter coat. This would go with everything and looks so smart!
  6. Tiffany Victoria Cat Eye Sunglasses – I saw these way before Christmas when I was looking to buy some new sunglasses, fell in love with them asked the price put them back down and walked straight out the shop! Ridiculously expensive for some sunglasses but they are absolutely gorgeous! One day I will have these… I just need to win the lottery first ;)!

So that is my fashion wishlist at the moment. I realise that a few of the products are quite expensive but as you may already know I seem to have really expensive taste and I am always attracted to expensive things, rather annoying, but I wanted to include them as these are the things that are actually on my wishlist at the moment!

I hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know whats on your fashion wishlist at the moment as I would love to know!

Also just a quick favour to ask, if you are reading this post through the ‘Reader’ section on WordPress, please can you let me know as I don’t know if changing my name and url has changed that! Thank you 🙂

See you soon!

The Fashionista Award

Hey guys! I hope you are having a good week! So the other day I was nominated by the lovely Chanelle Hayley to do ‘The Fashionista Award’. Chanelle’s blog is all about Beauty so if you haven’t already then definitely head on over! She is such a lovely girl and I love reading her posts!

What motivated you to start blogging?

I have always wanted to start a blog, I did a while back but then deleted it. So when I moved away from home and couldn’t always chat to my friends/family about beauty and fashion (my boyfriend stopped listening haha!) I decided to start this blog!

Favourite Movies?

Harry Potter – all of them! ❤

What is your dream career?

I would love to work in the Beauty Industry. I am undecided exactly what I want to do but I have a few ideas. I’m just going to see where I end up in the next couple of years.

Top wish list items at the moment?

I am actually on a spending ban at the moment as I am saving for my next car but when that is over I will be heading to Hollister as I have seen so many tops and dresses in there that are beautiful! I never go into Hollister as it is quite pricy for me but I am definitely going to treat myself when I can.

Favourite TV shows?

I am loving Once Upon A Time at the moment! If you haven’t watched this then I 100% recommend it! I also love Hollyoaks.

What stores do you find yourself shopping at the most?

I haven’t bought any clothes in ages but I do like H&M, Dorothy Perkins, Boohoo and New Look. Beauty wise I love Superdrug as drugstore makeup is so good recently! The quality has got so much better.

Favourite fashion designers?

I watched a programme yesterday about Christian Louboutin shoes and oh my gosh they are amazing! I will never have a pair but I can still dream right?! Also to add to the dream I love Mulberry handbags!

Describe your dream vacation!

Mauritius! I don’t think I need to say anything else….

What are your goals for your blog?

I love blogging and learning about everything to do with Beauty & Fashion. Like Chanelle I am also close to 500 followers so that would be super cool to reach. I can’t even believe this many people follow my blog to be honest! I remember when I first started I thought my mum would be my only follower, so thank you to everyone who does follow and read my posts! ❤

I am going to nominate –
