Hey guys! It’s Product of the Month time and I haven’t done one of these in quite a while so I’m quite excited for this, plus its the first one of 2017! I decided to change up my ‘Product of the Month’ logo/picture thing because I was feeling like it needed a change. It’s nothing special but I am quite pleased with it :). If you want to know what the one product is that I’ve been loving in January, then just keep reading..
It is of course the Urban Decay Naked Flushed Palette in the shade Naked. This isn’t new to my collection as I’ve had it for a while but I re-organised my makeup drawers so that I can see everything and I have just been reaching for this pretty much every day since. I just love it and as you can see the bronzer gets a lot of use! I like everything about this palette from the packaging, as its nice and sturdy, to the actual products as they are just a dream to use and perfect for my skin tone.
This whole palette is good for natural makeup and also if you want to glam things up a bit. The bronzer can be built up but if you want to go for a natural, everyday look then all you need is a few taps of this on your brush and you’re good to go. All 3 sections are very pigmented but the blush especially so you only need a light dusting of this which is why it looks like I haven’t even touched it! Finally the highlight, which is absolutely stunning! This again can be used for everyday, which I sometimes do if I’m feeling fancy! It can also be used as a killer highlight for a night out and looks gorgeous!
I just love how easy this palette is to use and it’s a perfect choice if you are going away and have limited space. If you haven’t tried it then I recommend giving it a go as they do have different shades to choose from.
What has your favourite product been this month? Let me know 🙂
See you soon!
Hey guys! Hope you are well! I am back today talking all things Lush with a couple of products from the Valentines Day range and then one of my all time faves! So the two products from the Valentines Day range are the Ladybird Bubble Bar and the Rose Bombshell Bath Bomb and then I picked up the Dragons Egg Bath Bomb because it smells amazing and it’s definitely one of my favourites! If you want to hear more about these lovely Lush goodies then keep on reading.. 🙂
I’ll start with the Rose Bombshell bath bomb which can I just say, how pretty is this?! It’s almost too pretty to use! However, I did use it and its definitely a good one! It’s got a very floral scent as the name would suggest and turns your bath water pink which is super fun! It’s got rose absolute and rose oil in which give it the floral scent but it also has Sicilian Lemon Oil which makes it super refreshing. After a little while you get a lovely surprise when the rose petals float out of the centre and make your bath look very pretty! If you like floral scents then I would definitely recommend this bath bomb!
Next up is this cute little bubble bar called Ladybird. I wanted to keep this one as well but it had to be used and although this is a smaller bubble bar I did get about 3 or 4 uses out of it. This is another floral one but not as strong as the Rose Bombshell. It’s got sweet geranium oil in which is good for relaxing and peppermint oil which helps revive and uplift your mind and body, sounds like a good bath to me! I will definitely be re-purchasing this little guy if I can.
Finally onto one of my all time favourites, Dragons Egg bath bomb. This smells absolutely divine! This has a very citrusy scent as it has Lemon Oil in, Bergamot Oil and Jasmine absolute and to make it even more fun its got popping candy so as well as being super fizzy it pops away as well! This one turns your bath water a lovely gold colour as well and I just love it! If you haven’t tried Dragons Egg then I 100% recommend giving it a go!
That’s it for this haul/review, I hope you enjoyed it! I absolutely love Lush and have to try not to spend all my money when I go in but if you have any recommendations then please feel free to leave them below as I love trying new products, especially from Lush!
See you soon!
Hey guys! As you may know I love to read and I was very lucky this Christmas and got a couple of books which was good timing as I had finished my last ‘new’ book just before Christmas. So the 3 books that I will be reading next are Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn, From Notting Hill to New York Actually by Ali McNamara and Alanatomy by Alan Carr.
I’ll start with Gone Girl because I have already started reading this but I’m only a few chapters in. If you are into mystery/thrillers then this may be for you. It’s basically about a couple who have been married for 5 years but on their 5th wedding anniversary the wife goes missing. This is the blurb – ‘Who are you? What have we done to each other? These are the questions Nick Dunne finds himself asking on the morning of his fifth wedding anniversary, when his wife Amy suddenly disappears. The police suspect Nick. Amy’s friends reveal that she was afraid of him, that she kept secrets from him. He swears it isn’t true. A police examination of his computer shows strange searches. He says they weren’t made by him. And then there are the persistent calls on his mobile phone. So what really did happen to Nick’s beautiful wife?’ Dun dun duuuunnnn, sounds SO good and I can’t wait to finish it!
I think the next book I will read, after Gone Girl, is From Notting Hill to New York Actually by Ali McNamara. This is the second book in the Notting Hill series, I have read the first and third already as I didn’t realise they were a 3 part series so I already know what happens at the end but I have missed out on a big chunk of the story so I definitely want to read this! If you are after a feel good, pick me up easy read then I recommend this series! This is the blurb – ‘Scarlett O’Brien, utterly addicted to romantic films, has found her leading man. She’s convinced Sean is Mr Right, but the day-to-day reality of a relationship isn’t quite like the movies. With Sean constantly away on business, Scarlett and her new best friend Oscar decide to head to New York for the holiday of a lifetime. From one famous landmark to the next, Scarlett and Oscar make many new friends during their adventure – including sailors in town for Fleet Week, a famous film star, and Jamie & Max, a TV reporter and cameraman. Scarlett finds herself strangely drawn to Jamie, they appear to have much in common: a love of films and Jamie’s search for a parent he never knew. But Scarlett has to ask herself why she is reacting like this to another man when she’s so in love with Sean.’
Finally onto a bit of a different book by Alan Carr called Alanatomy. I guess this is a bit like an autobiography as its about Alan Carr and his body/life and I wouldn’t usually pick this up but my Dad knows I love Alan Carr so he bought this for me which is super thoughtful and I am very grateful. Having read the blurb I am actually quite intrigued and excited to read this as I really do enjoy watching Alan Carr on the tele as I find him hilarious and I laughed just reading the blurb so I can imagine I will be laughing a lot more when reading this. Check out the blurb – ‘It must seem strange to you that I’ve called a book Alanatomy. For anyone who has taken the time to see my stand-up performances or watched my chat show, ‘Chattyman’, knows that my body has hardly been kind to me – in fact there’ve been times when we’ve actually stopped talking to each other. Balding, myopic, often flaky with psoriasis, back fat that hangs suspended like a cape, a voice that could strip varnish, an increasingly dodgy hip and even dodgier teeth. Why would you draw attention to it? you must ask. Couldn’t you just call the book something else? Do you think the Great British Public is ready to pore over your body? Well, you’d better be the judge of that…’ Let me know if you have read this and what you thought! 🙂
So that is it for this post. Let me know what you are currently reading and if you have any recommendations!
See you soon!
Hey guys! I was looking through my makeup collection last weekend because I fancied using something different to what I use everyday for work and I came across a few old faves and I have now been using them pretty much every day! I love having a good old rummage and finding products that you love but haven’t used in a while because it makes you feel like you’ve got new makeup!
First up is the Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow Palette. I think this is a staple in most beauty bloggers collection and when I first got it I used it non-stop but then somehow it got pushed to the back of my drawer. However, I have loved using it again and used it every day for work last week. The eyeshadows are so pigmented and easy to wear. I think I might do a makeup look soon using this palette because its just gorgeous!
Next is the single eyeshadow from MAC, its one of their Electric Cool Eyeshadows in the shade Superwatt. I think this may have been one of my very first MAC purchases and although it looks like I have barely used it I can assure you this has been used ALOT but a little goes a long way. This is so easy to wear and looks really nice on its own or with the shade Sin from the Naked palette over the top for a touch of shimmer. This eyeshadow also lasts all day with no creasing.
Now onto a bit of blusher with the Kiko Colour Veil Blush in the shade 03. This is such a pretty shade for lighter skin tones and helps you achieve that healthy glow look that we all want. Again, this looks like I’ve barely used it but a little goes a long way because its really pigmented. It also smells amazing!
Finally we have another Urban Decay product and that is the Naked Flushed Palette with the bronzer, highlight and blush. This is such a good palette for every day use as all the shades are quite light and natural. I have hit pan on the bronzer which is quite sad as I never want it to run out! If you are looking for a palette like this with the 3 products in one then I highly recommend this, they stay on all day and the palette its self is quite a sturdy palette so it’s really good for travelling.
I love re-discovering old makeup favourites! Have you re-discovered anything in your collection recently?
I hope you enjoyed this post.
See you soon!
Hey guys! Hope you have had a good week and are now enjoying the weekend! I was very lucky this Christmas and my lovely boyfriend got me a Kate Spade handbag. I got the Cedar Street Maise in the colour Mahogany and it is absolutely beautiful, I feel very lucky! Because I have a new handbag I thought I would do a what’s in my bag as I think I did my last one 2 years ago and some things may have changed. Let me know in the comments one thing you always have in your handbag and before I ramble on any more, lets get into what I think of this handbag and what I have in it..
So I absolutely love this handbag as it is very pretty to look at but it is also the perfect size bag for me. It’s slightly smaller than what I would usually go for but I wanted a smaller bag so that I can’t cram so much rubbish into it which means it doesn’t get heavy as I hate lugging round a heavy handbag! I love how simple this bag is, it makes it easy to wear and will go with pretty much anything and the gold hardware is a nice light gold which goes perfectly with the mahogany colour. I much prefer bags with this crosshatched leather design as just incase it ever gets scratched its less obvious then it would be on a smooth leather bag. You get the choice of straps as well, with the two straps that you can see but there is also a cross body strap that can be clipped on and removed. It’s quite simple inside with the usual zip pocket and then the two slide pockets which I find super useful. Overall, I am in love with this handbag and have used it every day because I can’t stand to leave it behind!
What I always have in my handbag..
- Makeup Bag – I never leave the house without this as you never know when you may need to re-apply!
- House Keys – No-one wants to be locked out plus I love my grey heart keyring (might have to get one the same colour as my bag :D)
- Purse – This purse was an absolute bargain from TK Maxx. Its a Paul Costelloe purse and I’m pretty sure it was supposed to be like £90 but I got it for £20 – bargain!!
- Car Keys – I’m lazy and drive everywhere!
- Hand Cream – My hands get so dry, especially round this time of year and the Body Shop hand creams work wonders. I especially love the Mango one.
- Nivea Lip Balm – An absolute must in Winter and this Nivea one is really good plus when it gets to Summer its got SPF in so your lips are protected all year round!
- Phone – I feel so lost if I ever forget my phone which is really sad but it’s always with me.
- Hand Sanitiser – This always comes in handy, plus its Mango scented and I love everything Mango! The Body Shop scents are always amazing!
So that is everything I have in my handbag. All this fits in perfectly with room to spare so although it’s a smaller handbag it is still quite roomy!
I hope you enjoyed this post! Don’t forget to let me know the one thing you always have in your handbag.
See you soon!
Hey guys! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year! I had the best time with family and friends which is why I haven’t posted in a while but now its back to reality and getting back into blogging which I am looking forward too! So I have decided to share my 2017 goals with you as I am going to really try and make an effort to achieve these goals and tick them off as I go. I got this super pretty notebook and pen set for christmas (both from Paperchase) but I wasn’t sure what to do with it so late last night, when I should have been asleep, I decided to write down everything I wanted to do and achieve this year. Then with the rest I am going to split the pages into a week and just write a couple of lines a day on what I got up to. I know you might be thinking ‘why don’t you just buy a diary?!’ but I fancy being creative and making it my own, plus I get to use this super cute notebook every day!
Onto my goals for 2017!
- Save money – I want to save £1000 by the end of the year. I have set myself a target, that way I have something to work towards rather than just saving money.
- Get better at photography – I want to make my blog photos better and get out to new places to explore and take more photos of landscapes and the places that I visit.
- Travel more – This might make saving money harder but I do want to travel more and 3 places I would like to go are Venice, Iceland and Disneyland Paris (I have already been but it was years ago!)
- Meet new people – I moved to Manchester in August away from all my family and friends so I want to meet new people by joining a class or something and I would also like to meet some fellow bloggers!
- Try new things – I want to do lots of new things this year like new experiences, new food etc.. I feel like I stick to what I know but this year I am all for trying something new!
So they are my goals for 2017! Please share your goals in the comments as I would love to know! I hope you enjoyed this post!
See you soon!
Hey guys! Hope you are well. I went into Lush the other day to have a look at the new Autumn goodies and ended up coming out with a few which is pretty standard to be honest! I absolutely love this time of year at Lush as the Halloween/Christmas products are by far my fave! The scents are gorgeous, the designs are ace and they just get better every year! So lets get into it!
First up we have the Northern Lights bath bomb. They had this one last year but they have changed the shape and I think I prefer this one as it’s more robust than the previous one. The colours are still the same and it still smells amazing! This is what the Lush website says – ‘Bring the ecstatic beauty of the night sky into the bath. Trails of blue and yellow jettison from a purple casing and dance across the water in otherworldly streams. As they do, cheery ylang ylang bobs and weaves with sensual jasmine in the air to light up your spirits.’ I think this is actually one of my all time favourite bath bombs! I am so excited to use this and will be using it after I have written this blog post!
Next up is the Pumpkin Bath Bomb. I haven’t tried this one before and I’m pretty sure they had it last year but correct me if I’m wrong! This does smell super strong and my whole flat smelt like ‘Autumn’ afterwards but I wasn’t complaining! This is what Lush say – ‘Serve yourself up a slab of sweet pumpkin pie, dripping in spice and sauciness – it’s even more satisfying in bath bomb form. Sweet, comforting vanilla absolute and spicy cinnamon evoke the rich, biscuity fragrance of home-baking and stacked desserts, ensuring that you feel toasty from top to toe. A soak with this pumpkin-shaped bomb is more satisfying than a belly full of pudding.’ If you are in need of a nice relaxing bath to take you away from everyday stresses and into a world of spice and warmth then this is the one!
Finally I got the Never Mind The Ballistics bath bomb and I haven’t seen this one before so I was intrigued, especially with the wax like top half! Lush says – ‘These aren’t ingredients for anybody else except for yourself. Lime and sweet wild orange oils are fresh and peachy on the nose, exciting the senses and shaking up your mood. There’s no time for apathy in the bath, so this anarchic bath bomb fizzes and rolls and spews colour with no holds barred energy. Fair Trade cocoa butter melts alongside fresh bananas to soften both the water and your skin. God save the clean; this deserves a replay.’ This one smells super sweet and I am very excited to try it! I like the fact it has cocoa butter in to help soften the skin as that is definitely needed this time of year!
So thats it for this mini Autumn Lush Haul. I hope you enjoyed it. Please let me know some of your favourite Autumn/Winter Lush products as I would like to try more! 😀
