My beauty wishlist is constantly growing, even when I manage to treat myself to something on the list you can almost guarantee two more things will be added straight away. I have done a couple of these posts before but thought I’d do an updated one because my list seems to be very large at the moment so I am going to share the top 5 products that are currently on my wishlist. Don’t forget to let me know whats on your wishlist at the moment too…
Beauty Wishlist –
- Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick – I still haven’t tried anything from Hourglass and there is always one of their products on my wishlists. I have heard good things about this foundation and I have always been intrigued by the stick foundations.
- L’Oreal Paris Paradise Mascara – This is a new product from L’Oreal and as soon as I saw this was being released it was mentally added to my list. I love L’Oreal products so as soon as my current mascara runs out I will be purchasing this.
- Iconic London Illuminator Drops – These look absolutely amazing!! I feel like your highlight would be on point 24/7 with these.
- The Body Shop Expert Face Masks – I really like the look of these and have tried samples but haven’t tried any of the new ones. I love face masks, especially when they are from The Body Shop.
- Zoeva Coral Spectrum Blush Palette – Zoeva is my favourite makeup brush brand and I also have a couple of their eyeshadow palettes so I really want to try this blush palette. It looks so pretty and you really can’t go wrong for just under £15!!
That rounds up the top 5 products that are on my beauty wishlist at the moment. Let me know if you have tried any of them and what you think. Hope you’re having a good bank holiday weekend as well!!
Charlotte Tilbury has to be, for me, one of the most luxurious brands that I have ever tried. I love absolutely everything about the brand. The packaging is perfect, the actual products are perfect and they just tick all the boxes for me. So when I was feeling a little spendy a couple of months ago I, of course, headed to Charlotte Tilbury. I am always eyeing up something from the collection but this particular palette has been on my wishlist for a long time… The Golden Goddess eyeshadow palette and it is just dreamy!
The packaging on all CT products is really good quality, nothing feels cheap and the mirrors are actually decent mirrors. Everything about them feels and looks luxurious which is one of the reasons why I don’t mind paying a bit more money for them. I also really like that on the back of all the eyeshadow palettes it basically tells you how to apply them so you can get the best look. The top left shade is to prime the eye, the top right is to enhance, the bottom right is to smoke and then the bottom left is to pop. There are videos on the CT website as well with a day and night look which is super helpful, especially if you aren’t a makeup artist and need all the help you can get (like me)!!
I chose to get this palette because the eyeshadows are perfect for everyday as well as an evening look. I always gravitate towards the beige/neutral shades, especially for work because they are so easy to wear and quick to apply on a morning. When I use this for work I tend to apply the prime shade all over the lid and then the enhance shade in the crease and I’m then good to go. For a more smokey look I will use the other two which really just finish off the look and looks so pretty! I absolutely love the pop shade as it really does make the eye look ‘pop’. If I could get away with a full on glitter look everyday then I definitely would, especially using this palette!!
These swatches really don’t do the eyeshadows any justice but I can never get a good picture of swatches. You would probably be better going to a Charlotte Tilbury counter and swatching it for yourself so you can see how beautiful this palette is. What is your favourite Charlotte Tilbury product? I really want to try the Beachsticks, they look SO pretty! If you have tried them, let me know.
We all have those days where we just need to switch off, relax and have some ‘me time’. I have been trying something new to de stress and relax and really feel like it is helping. So I thought I would share some of the things that help me relax after a long stressful day.
Listen to Music – This is something I do to help me relax after a stressful day but it is also something I do when I am feeling stressed at work. I don’t really have a particular genre, just my current favourite songs or I will go back to some of my all time faves like Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson because you can have a good old sing a long which makes me feel better.
Have a bath – This is an obvious one but I had to include it as it really does help me relax. Pop in a Lush product or a load of bubble bath, candle on the side, snacks and a drink and you’re sorted. I tend to have a longer bath when I’m stressed because its more time to try and unwind and time on your own.
Face Mask/Paint Nails – These two are really good, especially painting your nails because it takes the mind off what you’re stressed about as you have to concentrate on not getting nail varnish everywhere (I do anyway!). Also doing a face mask helps because afterwards your skin feels super clean and revitalised like all the days stress has just been washed away.
Read a Book/Watch a film – Again, these may seem like obvious ones but not everyone likes to read or to re-watch films because when I say ‘watch a film’ I really mean watch Harry Potter. That relaxes me because they are my all time favourite films and instantly make me happy. If you’re not feeling a film (Harry Potter) then reading is great as its making you concentrate on something else. I am currently reading the Roy Grace series by Peter James which are really good!
Meditate/Mindfulness – This is a new one for me but I’ve had a lot going on in my life recently and this was recommended to me so I thought I’d give it a go. I’ve only been doing it for about a month on and off but so far I am really enjoying it. I tend to do this just before going to sleep so I will sit in bed, get comfortable and play the app. I am currently using the app called Calm which has been my favourite so far because when you are meditating the app plays calming sounds in the background. You can choose from lots of different sounds and pick one that you find relaxing. Once I have done this for 10 minutes I find I fall to sleep quicker and have a much better sleep.
They are the top things I usually do when feeling stressed after a long day/week. Please let me know if you do any of these or if you have any other tips that I could use. I also just found this quote online and thought it was perfect to sum up this post…
‘Take life day by day and be grateful for the little things. Don’t get stressed over what you can’t control’
I feel like I am always on the hunt for a new concealer. I think I find the ‘perfect’ one but then there is always something that I don’t like. However, I may have found one that is very close to perfection and the concealer I am talking about is the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer. I had been meaning to try this for quite a while as I always heard so much about it online, so when my NARS Creamy concealer ran out I decided I didn’t love it enough to spend another £24 and marched straight to Boots and picked up this one. I got the lightest shade which is Fair 1 and its perfect for my skin tone. They also do 3 other shades.
The first great thing about this concealer is the price.. its £4.19 which is so affordable and not going to break the bank. Second, I think its a lot better than the NARS Creamy concealer but thats just my opinion. Third, it lasts all day which when you have dark circles like mine is an absolute must in a concealer. I apply this before my foundation because that’s just what I’ve always done and it does such a good job at covering not just my dark circles but also any blemishes and redness on my face. I then apply my foundation and it sits nicely on top without looking too heavy.
I am so pleased I picked up this little gem and would really recommend giving it a try if you are looking for a new concealer. Let me know in the comments what your favourite concealer is..
Hey guys! It sure has been a while since I posted on here, I hope you are all good and life is treating you well. A lot has been happening in my life at the moment which is why I haven’t been on here in a while but I am back and slowly getting motivated again which is good because I have missed blogging and missed chatting with you guys! So I thought I would kick it off with a haul because over the 5 months that I have been away I have still been shopping and thought I’d show you some of those purchases. Also… who doesn’t love a haul! I thought I’d keep this a beauty only haul otherwise we may be here a while..
Beauty Bits –
All of the above are new products to me apart from the L’Oreal Eyeliner which is a firm favourite of mine and has been for a while so if you are looking for a new eyeliner, this ones a good’un. I am going to do reviews of these in more detail, especially the Charlotte Tilbury Eyeshadow Palette because its just dreamy!
I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know if there is anything you would like to see on here now that I am back. Also let me know what you’ve been buying recently or leave links to your latest posts so that I can have a read!
Hey guys! So I thought I would do a review on a new eyeshadow palette today as I want to use it in a post that I have planned but felt that I needed to review it first. I received this cute little palette in the February Birchbox, which was my first ever Birchbox and I am so pleased with it. I have done a post on my thoughts of the February Birchbox here! Now back to the eyeshadow palette! As the title says this is the Pop Beauty Bright Up Your Life Eyeshadow Trio in the shade Champagne Mocha and these shades are right up my street!
The packaging is pretty basic but very sturdy, so sturdy that I actually struggle to get into it without breaking a nail but hopefully that will wear down over time. It’s not a major issue and maybe I just got a dodgy one but that is the only thing that I see as a ‘bad thing’ so lets get onto the good things! I think the name of this palette ‘Champagne Mocha’ is perfect as the 3 shades definitely resemble both of those things. Since receiving this palette I have used it a lot, its so wearable and great for everyday. All 3 of the eyeshadows are shimmery and the darkest shade has little specs of glitter in which is super pretty! The eyeshadows last pretty much all day and that’s without a primer so I am really impressed. This is one of those palettes that is super easy to use and only takes a couple of minutes to achieve a smokey eye look that looks like you’ve spent half an hour perfecting.
I am really impressed with the quality of this palette and when I have used up this mini version I am definitely going to buy a full size palette as they are only £15.50 and you get 10 eyeshadows. They have 3 to choose from and I think I would probably go for ‘Naturally Bare’ which is super pretty! Let me know in the comments if you have ever tried this brand before, I had never heard of them before receiving my Birchbox.
I hope you enjoyed this post! See you soon
Hey guys! I hope you are well and having a fab weekend! I have been busy packing as I am going to Amsterdam tomorrow and I am super excited! I’ve never been before and already have a long list of things I would like to do and see whilst I’m there. Let me know if you have been before and if there is anywhere or any food places that you would recommend. So lets get onto todays post and I thought that I would do a product empties as I have accumulated quite a few things and want to share my thoughts on the products and whether I would re-purchase them.
Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation – I love this foundation! Until a better one comes along I will use this everyday! It is on the more pricy side but I think its worth it, plus if you live near a designer outlet its £21 rather than £31! I have re-purchased this as I love it!
Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic – I have had this bottle for ages! I thought it was never going to run out, which is a good thing! This is the first product that I use on a morning, it freshens my skin and helps prepare it before applying makeup. I really enjoy using this product and although I haven’t yet re-purchased it, I definitely intend to. Also, little tip with this, I buy the full size bottle but when I first decided to try it I bought the mini spray bottle and I just pour the toner from the big bottle into the spray one as I find it much easier and quicker on a morning!
The Body Shop Aloe Soothing Day Cream – This is the second product that I use on a morning and I love it! It’s such a light moisturiser which is why its a good base for makeup. It keeps my skin moisturised and because its part of the Aloe range it is really gentle on the skin. I have re-purchased this and will continue to.
The Body Shop Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream – The packaging has slightly changed on this now but it is still the same moisturiser. This is a much more thicker moisturiser but it sinks in beautifully and really helps put back any moisture thats lost through out the day into my face and leave it feeling really soft. I have also re-purchased this as I love using it on an evening before bed.
The Body Shop Instablur All In One Primer – I promise this isn’t sponsored by The Body Shop, I just love their products! I have used this primer for a long time now. It’s the third step in my morning skin care routine and it just finishes off my base perfectly. It blur out my pores and helps keep my makeup in one place. I have, of course, re-purchased this as it is the best primer I have found so far!
So thats all of the products that I have used up over the last few months! Let me know in the comments if you have tried any of these products.
I hope you enjoyed this post! See you soon.
