Pop Beauty Bright Up Your Life Eyeshadow Trio!

Hey guys! So I thought I would do a review on a new eyeshadow palette today as I want to use it in a post that I have planned but felt that I needed to review it first. I received this cute little palette in the February Birchbox, which was my first ever Birchbox and I am so pleased with it. I have done a post on my thoughts of the February Birchbox here! Now back to the eyeshadow palette! As the title says this is the Pop Beauty Bright Up Your Life Eyeshadow Trio in the shade Champagne Mocha and these shades are right up my street!

IMG_3188

The packaging is pretty basic but very sturdy, so sturdy that I actually struggle to get into it without breaking a nail but hopefully that will wear down over time. It’s not a major issue and maybe I just got a dodgy one but that is the only thing that I see as a ‘bad thing’ so lets get onto the good things! I think the name of this palette ‘Champagne Mocha’ is perfect as the 3 shades definitely resemble both of those things. Since receiving this palette I have used it a lot, its so wearable and great for everyday. All 3 of the eyeshadows are shimmery and the darkest shade has little specs of glitter in which is super pretty! The eyeshadows last pretty much all day and that’s without a primer so I am really impressed. This is one of those palettes that is super easy to use and only takes a couple of minutes to achieve a smokey eye look that looks like you’ve spent half an hour perfecting.

I am really impressed with the quality of this palette and when I have used up this mini version I am definitely going to buy a full size palette as they are only £15.50 and you get 10 eyeshadows. They have 3 to choose from and I think I would probably go for ‘Naturally Bare’ which is super pretty! Let me know in the comments if you have ever tried this brand before, I had never heard of them before receiving my Birchbox.

I hope you enjoyed this post! See you soon

Product Empties!

Hey guys! I hope you are well and having a fab weekend! I have been busy packing as I am going to Amsterdam tomorrow and I am super excited! I’ve never been before and already have a long list of things I would like to do and see whilst I’m there. Let me know if you have been before and if there is anywhere or any food places that you would recommend. So lets get onto todays post and I thought that I would do a product empties as I have accumulated quite a few things and want to share my thoughts on the products and whether I would re-purchase them.

IMG_3220

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation – I love this foundation! Until a better one comes along I will use this everyday! It is on the more pricy side but I think its worth it, plus if you live near a designer outlet its £21 rather than £31! I have re-purchased this as I love it!

Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic – I have had this bottle for ages! I thought it was never going to run out, which is a good thing! This is the first product that I use on a morning, it freshens my skin and helps prepare it before applying makeup. I really enjoy using this product and although I haven’t yet re-purchased it, I definitely intend to. Also, little tip with this, I buy the full size bottle but when I first decided to try it I bought the mini spray bottle and I just pour the toner from the big bottle into the spray one as I find it much easier and quicker on a morning!

The Body Shop Aloe Soothing Day Cream – This is the second product that I use on a morning and I love it! It’s such a light moisturiser which is why its a good base for makeup. It keeps my skin moisturised and because its part of the Aloe range it is really gentle on the skin. I have re-purchased this and will continue to.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream – The packaging has slightly changed on this now but it is still the same moisturiser. This is a much more thicker moisturiser but it sinks in beautifully and really helps put back any moisture thats lost through out the day into my face and leave it feeling really soft. I have also re-purchased this as I love using it on an evening before bed.

The Body Shop Instablur All In One Primer – I promise this isn’t sponsored by The Body Shop, I just love their products! I have used this primer for a long time now. It’s the third step in my morning skin care routine and it just finishes off my base perfectly. It blur out my pores and helps keep my makeup in one place. I have, of course, re-purchased this as it is the best primer I have found so far!

So thats all of the products that I have used up over the last few months! Let me know in the comments if you have tried any of these products.

I hope you enjoyed this post! See you soon.

Product of the Month – February!

Hey guys, hope you are well and had a good weekend! Apparently its March, not quite sure how that happened so fast but it did and here I am doing a product of the month for February! So this month and the past few months I have been loving The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter! As with all skincare products I have been using it for a few months just to make sure that it doesn’t irritate my skin and cause breakouts and I can safely say that it hasn’t!

img_3086

This cleansing butter is such a dream to use and literally feels like butter, just not as greasy! It is so soft and gentle on the skin and really does remove every last bit of makeup. After using this my skin feels so clean I never feel like I have to go back in with more product and re-cleanse. This cleanser is also perfect for sensitive skin so if you are on the hunt for a new cleanser I would 100% recommend this one. It says on The Body Shops website that it removes all types of makeup, it removes my mascara and liquid eyeliner no issues but I don’t wear waterproof mascara so I can’t comment on that but considering how easy it removes mine, I don’t think there would be any issues. If you have tried this on waterproof mascara please feel free to let me know how it performs.

img_3088

You get 90ml of product for £10.00 which isn’t too bad as a lot of other cleansers I’ve used have had the same amount of product in but they are more expensive. Overall, I really like this cleanser, it does exactly what it says on the tin, its great for sensitive skin and it lasts a fair while too! I have actually just re-purchased this as well as I am running low, that is another reason why this lovely cleanser is my February product of the month. Let me know in the comments if you have used this before and what your thought are..

I hope you enjoyed this post. See you soon!

Current Beauty Wishlist!

Hey guys! I hope you have had a good week and enjoying your Saturday so far! I thought that I would share with you all the makeup items that I am currently lusting over right now and if I could buy them all I most definitely would! Don’t forget to let me know what’s on your wishlist in the comments.

First up is the Anastasia Beverley Hills Modern Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette. This is just a stunning palette and the shades are right up my street! I have never tried anything from ABH but I am always hearing good things about their products.

Next is the By Terry Ombre Blackstar Eyeshadow in the shade Ombre Mercure. I have had my eye on this for a long time now and very nearly bought it last year. Once again I have never tried anything from the By Terry range but always hear about these eyeshadow sticks, plus this shade is absolutely beautiful!

Now it wouldn’t be a wishlist without some Charlotte Tilbury products and this Luxury Eyeshadow Palette in the shade Golden Goddess is just gorgeous! Whenever I am at a CT counter I always swatch this and I think out of all of these, this might be my next ‘big’ makeup purchase!

Yes, I am obsessed with Charlotte Tilbury and this is the super pretty Instant Look in a Palette. This palette is actually limited edition so I probably wont ever get my hands on one but a girl can dream.. I love how natural all the shades are in this palette and it would be perfect to take away on a mini break because you literally have everything you need all in one place!

Ahh Hourglass, another brand that I have never tried but really, really want to and not just because the products look amazing but the packaging is also spot on! This is the Ambient Lighting Edit Palette which I was also so close to buying last month but my responsible side kicked in and persuaded me not to (damn you responsible adult Rachel)!

Finally we have some makeup brushes from Spectrum. These are the White Marbleous 12 piece set and they are SO pretty! I have had my eye on these for a few months now and when I received one of their eyeshadow brushes in my February Birchbox, I wanted this set even more! The eyeshadow brush is so soft I can only imagine how soft all these are, especially the face brushes!

So that is it for this post! I hope you enjoyed it. Let me know whats on your wishlist at the moment and also if you have tried any of the above products!

See you soon!

Product of the Month – January 2017!

photo-20-01-2017-20-35-47

Hey guys! It’s Product of the Month time and I haven’t done one of these in quite a while so I’m quite excited for this, plus its the first one of 2017! I decided to change up my ‘Product of the Month’ logo/picture thing because I was feeling like it needed a change. It’s nothing special but I am quite pleased with it :). If you want to know what the one product is that I’ve been loving in January, then just keep reading..

img_3153

It is of course the Urban Decay Naked Flushed Palette in the shade Naked. This isn’t new to my collection as I’ve had it for a while but I re-organised my makeup drawers so that I can see everything and I have just been reaching for this pretty much every day since. I just love it and as you can see the bronzer gets a lot of use! I like everything about this palette from the packaging, as its nice and sturdy, to the actual products as they are just a dream to use and perfect for my skin tone.

img_3154

This whole palette is good for natural makeup and also if you want to glam things up a bit. The bronzer can be built up but if you want to go for a natural, everyday look then all you need is a few taps of this on your brush and you’re good to go. All 3 sections are very pigmented but the blush especially so you only need a light dusting of this which is why it looks like I haven’t even touched it! Finally the highlight, which is absolutely stunning! This again can be used for everyday, which I sometimes do if I’m feeling fancy! It can also be used as a killer highlight for a night out and looks gorgeous!

I just love how easy this palette is to use and it’s a perfect choice if you are going away and have limited space. If you haven’t tried it then I recommend giving it a go as they do have different shades to choose from.

What has your favourite product been this month? Let me know 🙂

See you soon!

My Next Few Books

Hey guys! As you may know I love to read and I was very lucky this Christmas and got a couple of books which was good timing as I had finished my last ‘new’ book just before Christmas. So the 3 books that I will be reading next are Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn, From Notting Hill to New York Actually by Ali McNamara and Alanatomy by Alan Carr.

I’ll start with Gone Girl because I have already started reading this but I’m only a few chapters in. If you are into mystery/thrillers then this may be for you. It’s basically about a couple who have been married for 5 years but on their 5th wedding anniversary the wife goes missing. This is the blurb – ‘Who are you? What have we done to each other? These are the questions Nick Dunne finds himself asking on the morning of his fifth wedding anniversary, when his wife Amy suddenly disappears. The police suspect Nick. Amy’s friends reveal that she was afraid of him, that she kept secrets from him. He swears it isn’t true. A police examination of his computer shows strange searches. He says they weren’t made by him. And then there are the persistent calls on his mobile phone. So what really did happen to Nick’s beautiful wife?’ Dun dun duuuunnnn, sounds SO good and I can’t wait to finish it!

img_3139

I think the next book I will read, after Gone Girl, is From Notting Hill to New York Actually by Ali McNamara. This is the second book in the Notting Hill series, I have read the first and third already as I didn’t realise they were a 3 part series so I already know what happens at the end but I have missed out on a big chunk of the story so I definitely want to read this! If you are after a feel good, pick me up easy read then I recommend this series! This is the blurb – ‘Scarlett O’Brien, utterly addicted to romantic films, has found her leading man. She’s convinced Sean is Mr Right, but the day-to-day reality of a relationship isn’t quite like the movies. With Sean constantly away on business, Scarlett and her new best friend Oscar decide to head to New York for the holiday of a lifetime. From one famous landmark to the next, Scarlett and Oscar make many new friends during their adventure – including sailors in town for Fleet Week, a famous film star, and Jamie & Max, a TV reporter and cameraman. Scarlett finds herself strangely drawn to Jamie, they appear to have much in common: a love of films and Jamie’s search for a parent he never knew. But Scarlett has to ask herself why she is reacting like this to another man when she’s so in love with Sean.’

img_3140

Finally onto a bit of a different book by Alan Carr called Alanatomy. I guess this is a bit like an autobiography as its about Alan Carr and his body/life and I wouldn’t usually pick this up but my Dad knows I love Alan Carr so he bought this for me which is super thoughtful and I am very grateful. Having read the blurb I am actually quite intrigued and excited to read this as I really do enjoy watching Alan Carr on the tele as I find him hilarious and I laughed just reading the blurb so I can imagine I will be laughing a lot more when reading this. Check out the blurb – ‘It must seem strange to you that I’ve called a book Alanatomy. For anyone who has taken the time to see my stand-up performances or watched my chat show, ‘Chattyman’, knows that my body has hardly been kind to me – in fact there’ve been times when we’ve actually stopped talking to each other. Balding, myopic, often flaky with psoriasis, back fat that hangs suspended like a cape, a voice that could strip varnish, an increasingly dodgy hip and even dodgier teeth. Why would you draw attention to it? you must ask. Couldn’t you just call the book something else? Do you think the Great British Public is ready to pore over your body? Well, you’d better be the judge of that…’ Let me know if you have read this and what you thought! 🙂

So that is it for this post. Let me know what you are currently reading and if you have any recommendations!

See you soon!

2017 Goals!

Hey guys! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year! I had the best time with family and friends which is why I haven’t posted in a while but now its back to reality and getting back into blogging which I am looking forward too! So I have decided to share my 2017 goals with you as I am going to really try and make an effort to achieve these goals and tick them off as I go. I got this super pretty notebook and pen set for christmas (both from Paperchase) but I wasn’t sure what to do with it so late last night, when I should have been asleep, I decided to write down everything I wanted to do and achieve this year. Then with the rest I am going to split the pages into a week and just write a couple of lines a day on what I got up to. I know you might be thinking ‘why don’t you just buy a diary?!’ but I fancy being creative and making it my own, plus I get to use this super cute notebook every day!

img_3122

Onto my goals for 2017!

  • Save money – I want to save £1000 by the end of the year. I have set myself a target, that way I have something to work towards rather than just saving money.
  • Get better at photography – I want to make my blog photos better and get out to new places to explore and take more photos of landscapes and the places that I visit.
  • Travel more – This might make saving money harder but I do want to travel more and 3 places I would like to go are Venice, Iceland and Disneyland Paris (I have already been but it was years ago!)
  • Meet new people – I moved to Manchester in August away from all my family and friends so I want to meet new people by joining a class or something and I would also like to meet some fellow bloggers!
  • Try new things – I want to do lots of new things this year like new experiences, new food etc.. I feel like I stick to what I know but this year I am all for trying something new!

img_3124

So they are my goals for 2017! Please share your goals in the comments as I would love to know! I hope you enjoyed this post!

See you soon!
