My go to Blush for Spring

Hi guys, I hope you are really well! With Spring just around the corner I thought I would share with you the blusher that I will be using pretty much every day throughout Spring and have been using every day for the past couple of weeks. The blush I am talking about is the Clinique Blushwear Cream Stick in the shade Rosy Blush. I will just say, I think this particular one has been discontinued but the chubby sticks look very similar.

So as the name says this is a cream blusher and I have only really started using cream blushers in the past year or so as I always thought they would make my skin look greasy and oily but I was so wrong! This blush sit so nicely on my foundation and under powder, it gives me a really healthy glow which is perfect for any time of year but I definitely feel its a good look for Spring. Before using this blusher my usual blush, bronzer and highlighters were powder products and I noticed that my skin was getting a few dry patches which is why I decided to switch up my powder blush for this one and it has definitely helped with it being a cream product.

As I mentioned before I apply this after my foundation and then set everything in place with my usual powder and it just makes my cheeks pop with colour and gives them a nice rosy glow. It also lasts all day so there is no need to re-apply! I have a feeling that this product is going to last me a long, long time as a little goes a long way, a few dabs of this and you are good to go! It literally takes 3 seconds which is a bonus if, like me, you are always in a rush on a morning!

I am wearing this blush in the above picture and I just love it! It is so pigmented and such a shame that Clinique discontinued it. However, the Clinique Chubby Sticks look pretty similar and I am sure that Boots and Superdrug will have much more affordable cream blushers that do exactly the same thing!

Let me know in the comments what you think of cream blushers and if you haven’t tried them them I recommend giving them a go! I hope you enjoyed this post!

See you soon!

Product of the Month – October!

Hey guys! It’s time for a Product of the Month again! I think I missed August and September as I was super busy moving but now that’s out of the way here is my Product of the Month for October.. I am also adding in another favourite that has nothing to do with beauty or fashion but I am loving it, so really wanted to include it.

Product of the Month!

My favourite product this month has definitely been the Clinique High Impact Mascara. I got this for my birthday this year in a little hamper of beauty goodies and totally forgot about it until this month. I don’t have the full size product, just the mini but I still love it! I have never tried a Clinique mascara before as I don’t really believe in spending loads on mascaras, but I may have to make an exception for this one! It makes my lashes look amazing! They are all separated with no clumps. It makes them look really long and fluttery and I only have to do a couple of coats, you could probably get away with one if you don’t like to wear a lot of mascara.

The wand is a bristle wand which I always find are my favourites as they really do get to every lash, so if you have super blonde eyelashes like me, then it is a must! To get this in a full size it is £17.50 which is quite steep but I am seriously considering purchasing the full size when this runs out as I really do love it! It stays on all day, but is still easy to take off on a night. It doesn’t go flakey through the day and doesn’t irritate my eyes. LOVE IT!

So my second favourite this month is actually a series I am watching on Netflix…. PLL (Pretty Little Liars)! Yes I am very late to the bandwagon. I actually started watching this a few months ago now and I am throughly enjoying it, in fact I can’t stop watching it! If you haven’t watched it before then basically, it is about a group of friends still in school and one night, at a sleep over, one of them goes missing. A year later a body is found which they all believe to be hers (Alison) but then they start getting texts from someone called A, who really starts to mess with them and their lives… dun dun duuuuuun! I am on season 4 (there are 6 all together – correct me if I am wrong) at the moment so no spoilers please but if you have watched this, or are currently watching it, let me know if you are enjoying it! I can’t wait to find out who A is, it changes every episode I watch which is why I am seriously hooked!

So they are my faves for this month. What have you been loving?

See you soon!

My Pamper Night Routine!

Hello lovelies! We all need a good pamper every now and then so I have decided to share with you my current favourite products when I am feeling like I need a good old pamper!

So to start off with I like to take all my makeup off with my Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water because its super quick and makes my skin feel so fresh afterwards! I then run myself a bath – usually a lush bath but if not then I like to use Radox as that is good at making you feel relaxed and chilled out. My current favourite Lush bath bomb is Dragon’s Egg which probably isn’t the best for relaxing because it makes your bath go a bright orange colour and you also get glitter, popping and fizzing but I still love it. If you want one for relaxing I would go for Shoot for the Stars. It does have glitter in but it makes your bath look like the night sky which I find super relaxing! Or you could go for a bath melt as they are super moisturising and make your skin feel so soft and smooth afterwards!

After my bath I then like to put on a face mask and my current favourite is the Lush Mask of Magnaminty Face and Body Mask. I like this face mask because it helps fight against those awful outbreaks and makes my skin feel super soft and smooth afterwards. It also makes my skin feel really clean and fresh as well because it smells of peppermint.

If I don’t feel like doing a face mask I like to use my Lush Ocean Salt Face and Body Scrub. I use this most nights anyway but just around my nose. When I am having a proper pamper I go all out and use this on my whole face! I absolutely love this face scrub! I have been suffering with flakey skin on my nose recently which has made my foundation look awful during the day but this has sorted that straight out and if I use it regularly it stops the horrible flakey skin completely!

After I have done my face mask or face scrub I then moisturise using the Simple Moisturiser. You can never go wrong with Simple products because they are made for people with sensitive skin (not saying you can’t use if you don’t have sensitive skin but you know what I mean;) ) so you don’t have to worry about it being too harsh or anything! I really need to get myself a night time moisturiser so if any of you can recommend one then please do let me know!

After I have moisturised, if I remember, I will then use my Clinique All about Eyes eye cream because that helps with dark circles and puffiness. I haven’t noticed loads of difference but it feels really nice on my eyes so I like using it!

Once I am all clean, face masked/scrubbed and moisturised out I will paint my nails or get into bed and then either catch up on reading blogs or I will read my book! I love those nights when you can just chill out and have a nice little pamper session! I would also just like to point out that I haven’t been sent any of these products! I know I have included a lot of Lush products but I am just loving them at the moment and I am really enjoying trying out new things!

I hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know in the comments what you like to do to relax and pamper yourself!

See you soon!

Makeup of the Day!

Hello beauties! I have decided to do a Makeup/Face of the day because I actually quite like how my makeup turned out today and I used a few different products to normal. So lets jump right in!

These are the products I used –

To get the smokey-ish kind of eye makeup I used –

  • The first shade out of the Makeup Rev palette all over my lid
  • I then used Smooth Harmony from the Zoeva Palette all over my lid
  • I then went back to the Makeup Rev palette and used the seventh shade in the crease to create the smokey look and then I went for the second shade in the corners of my eyes to add a bit of sparkle.

So that is everything I used to create this look. I haven’t used my Zoeva palette in so long and I am so glad I decided to use it today I didn’t realise how much I loved it! Also this is the first time I used my Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow. I bought this yesterday when I was in town and I am so glad I picked it up! I have wanted it for ages and decided it was time to invest! I lurveee it! I am going to do a full review soon!

FOTD – Makeup Revolution Iconic 3 Palette!

Hello beauties! I was experimenting with different looks this weekend and I was quite pleased with how it turned out so I decided to take a few selfies, as you do, and show you what it looked like.

Here are the products I used –

  • Clinique All About Eyes eye cream and Benefits Porefessional to sort those bags out and pesky pores!
  • MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation – NC15
  • Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer and then to set that in place I use the powder section of the Soap and Glory Kick Ass Concealer – I do use the concealers in their as well but only when I get spots that are really noticeable. The powder is absolutely amazing and makes your skin look so smooth afterwards! It also keeps my eyeshadow in place all day!
  • The star of the show is the Makeup Revolution Iconic 3 eyeshadow Palette. I used 4 shades from this palette. So going from the left I used the first shade all over the lid, the fifth shade all over the lid, the second shade on the inner lid and also right in the corner of my eye to brighten things up and finally I used the seventh shade in the crease to add some definition and get the smokey look. I also used the seventh shade along the lower lash line going about half way across.
  • Soap and Glory Supercat Liquid Eyeliner
  • Maybelline The Falsies – Black Drama
  • To set everything in place on my face again I used the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder – Transparent 001
  • NARS Laguna Bronzer
  • Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Blush – First Love
  • Finally I used Maybelline’s Big Eyes Liner. I used the black side on my tightline and then the white side on my waterline as that is supposed to make your eyes look bigger and brighter!

I know that it sounds like a lot of products but as it was a weekend I had more time to do my makeup so I like to make most of that and use all my fave products that I don’t get to use everyday – I could literally spend hours experimenting with makeup!

I hope you enjoyed this post!

See you very soon!

Time for a Haul!

Hellooo there! I am doing my first haul today – exciting times :). This is a collection of things that I have picked up/ordered over the last few weeks from Superdrug, The Body Shop, Clinique and Amazon. Most of the items are beauty related and one is a bit random but I wanted to share it with you because I think its such a cool idea. So lets get this show on the road!

First off we have the Maybelline Color 24hr Tattoo Eyeshadow – 05 Eternal Gold I saw this on another blog a while back and I have wanted to order it ever since then so I finally did. I haven’t tried it yet only swatched it on my hand but I will do a full review when I have tried it properly. Just from when I tried it on my hand I can tell its beautiful and is going to be perfect for Christmas!

IMG_1013     IMG_1018

Secondly I bought Maybelline’s The Falsies Volum’ Express Black Drama Mascara I have been wanting to try this mascara for ages now but wanted to wait until my current one ran out and now it just about has so I bought this and can’t wait to try it. The brush is curved and quite thick. A full review will be coming soon too.

The last thing I got from Superdrug was Maybelline’s Express Nail Varnish Remover. Everything is from Maybelline because they have a 3 for 2 offer on at Superdrug and I can’t say no a good deal! It says on the bottle that all you do is dip your finger into the sponge, turn it a few times and voila no nail varnish. I will let you know how I get on with this product.

Moving onto The Body Shop, I got two things from here for myself and also a few Christmas prezzies! So for myself I got the Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder in Light Matte this is something else that I have wanted for months now but I was put off because of the price. It’s £13.00 and I know its not super expensive but I didn’t want to spend that much but because I ordered more than 3 items online I got 40% off everything which is a bloody good deal if you ask me! I love how this looks like a honeycomb its not just a plain flat bronzer and I am very excited to try this.

Secondly I got the Coral Ultra Fine Bath Sponge. I thought I would throw this in their because I love these and you can never have too many especially when they come in all these lovely colours! This one from the Body Shop is also quite soft and wouldn’t be too rough on your skin.

Next up is Clinique’s All About Eyes eye cream. I got this a couple of weeks ago from an outlet store and so far I really like it. I got this because I do have dark circles under my eyes and everything else I have tried just hasn’t worked for me so I went for a high end product and will let you know how I get on when I have been using it for a bit longer.

The last thing I bought is from Amazon and its a One Line a Day: 5 Year Memory Book. I actually saw this on another blog a few days ago and I absolutely loved the idea of this so I bought one for myself and one for a Christmas present. Basically you just write one line a day everyday and when you come back round to that page the next year you can see what you were doing last year and you write another one and keep doing that for 5 years. I am going to start this in 2015 and I cant wait.

I hope you enjoyed my first haul. Have you tried any of these products before? Let me know in the comments.

See you soon.

Rachel 🙂 xx
