Uncommon Goods – Gift Guide

Buying gifts for people can be a struggle sometimes especially when trying to think of something different or unique. I also have quite a big family so birthdays seem to be coming round every month, sometimes multiple times a month for me! So when Uncommon Goods contacted me I had a look at their website and just loved the whole idea behind it. They have so many unusual gifts for everyone ranging from cute, unique jewellery to amazing home decor pieces. So to help anyone struggling with finding a unique birthday present for a family member or friend I thought I would do a gift guide showing you some of my favourite things from their website. They have different sections on their website depending on who you are buying for which makes it super easy to use.

I’ll start off with gifts for all the lovely women in your life. There were so many things to choose from but I finally decided on the Birthstone Wishing Ball which is basically somewhere to record any wishes/dreams you have for that year and you can pop them in here and then after the year is up have a read and see how many came true. These are handmade as well so everyone will be completely unique.26446_1_360pxNow for all the gifts/gadgetsΒ for men. This is one that I find the hardest because they never seem to be bothered or know what they want. Pretty much all the men in my life love gadgets so I thought this gift was a perfect one for the gadget lovers/big kids. Its called Makey MakeyΒ and basically its a circuit board that allows you to turn anything into a working keyboard.. how cool is that!?21805_1_360pxFinally, this is just all the gifts that would suit anyone which is good if you aren’t looking for something in particular. I came across these which are similar to the Wishing Balls but its a Wine Bottle StopperΒ and I just think its so pretty! I can already think of quite a few family members who would love this!!45886_1_360pxSo that is my birthday gift guide using the Uncommon Goods website. I hope this helps you in someway and gives you some fun unique gift ideas. See you soon!

Christmas Haul!

Hey guys! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas or if you don’t celebrate Christmas I hope you had a lovely day too! I had a great couple of days spent with my family! Christmas for me is all about spending time with my family playing board games and just having a jolly good time! The classic games always come out like charades, the name game, trivial pursuit etc.. We played all of these this year along with the chocolate game, which is just a really funny/silly game where you have to roll a six, put on the hat scarf and gloves and try and cut a square of chocolate before someone else rolls a six! It always gets very loud and competitive when we play this. What’s your favourite board game? (Mine is actually Monopoly but we didn’t get round to playing it this year)

I have been very lucky this year and got a lot of presents! I love every single one of them but I am just going to show you a few in this post. I would just like to say before I start I am not bragging in any way I just want to share these things with you because most of them are beauty related and that’s what this blog is about so lets get to it!

So I don’t know if I have ever said this on here but I do like to bake and my favourite baker/cook is Mary Berry! Her recipes are so simple to follow and they always taste amazing, even when I make it! She is just one of the cutest women I have ever seen and I already have a few of her cook books so when I opened this one I was over the moon! This book isn’t just for baking it has everything in so you could make a 3 course meal! I am going to make something from here pretty soon and I think I might put it on my blog so keep your eyes peeled for that!

I also got this amazing notebook. I am pretty sure I have mentioned this before but incase you missed it I am a huge Harry Potter fan! I got this notebook from my boyfriend and I am going to use it to put all my blog post ideas and things in! The wand attached to the side is actually a pencil – how cool is that! πŸ™‚

So now onto beauty! I got this Lush hand cream from my gran. I have never tried a hand cream from Lush before so I am very excited to use this. Its called ‘Helping Hands’Β and it says on the pot ‘A nurturing almond, cocoa butter and chamomile hand cream to give back some of what life and washing has taken out’. I cant wait to try it because, especially round this time of year, my hands get very dry. I will be doing a full post on this very soon!

Another thing I got from Santa (my amazing parents) is the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick – Pink Quartz. I can’t tell you how long I have wanted this and how many times I have been stood at the Bobbi Brown counter in Selfridges very nearly buying it so I was very excited when I opened this on Christmas morning! I have already used it and I love it but I will do a full post about it soon.

The last two things are also beauty and they are both from Charlotte Tilbury! These are my first Charlotte Tilbury products and I love them both! My boyfriend got me these because he is the best and when he asked me what I wanted I fluttered my eyelashes, said pretty please and saved them as a favourite on his laptop! πŸ˜€ I got a lipstick in the shade ‘Nude Kate’ I haven’t tried this yet because my lips are very dry and sore from the cold weather but when I do try it I will let you know what I think. I also got the Cheek to Chic blush in ‘First Love’ which I have tried and I love! A full review on this will also come very soon!
