Day in the City!

Chilled/unplanned weekends are my absolute favourite. Don’t get me wrong I love having plans but when you have an unexpected great weekend I just love it. Last weekend my boyfriend and I ventured into Manchester city centre because I needed to get some more bits for our holiday. We shopped, explored, had cream tea in a little cafe that we have wanted to go to for ages, shopped some more and then had a lovely walk around Salford Quays which is where I, finally, decided to take some pictures of my outfit. I had been trying to find a decent (quiet) place to take pictures all day but kept on putting it off because there was too many people!! So when we were walking around Salford Quays, it was relatively quiet, I just decided to get it done!!Photo 02-09-2017, 18 01 27Because I knew we would be walking around Manchester all day I went for a comfy outfit and flat shoes, plus it was nice weather so wanted to wear some sort of sandals. I have had this top for a couple of months now and I absolutely love it! It’s pretty, comfy and really brings an outfit together and its from Primark which makes it even better. I really like the style and on the back there is a criss cross pattern just at the top which just adds something extra. The only downside is that it gets creased quite easily, especially if you are wearing it all day, which is why it looks a little creased in these pictures.Photo 02-09-2017, 18 01 30 (1)These jeans are my favourite jeans at the moment. The fit is lovely, the colour is perfect and they are so comfortable. They are from Stradivarius which is a shop I have never heard of before until it came to the Trafford Centre earlier this year and its now one of my favourite shops! I really like the rips on the knees and the distressing as well. I have rolled them up just a little bit at the bottom as well.Photo 02-09-2017, 18 01 32Photo 02-09-2017, 18 01 39My shoes are quite new to my collection and they are from Ego which is another shop that is quite new to me but I saw these in the sale a few weeks back and knew I had to have them. I had been looking for a pair of espadrilles for a while and these ticked all the boxes for me. They are also really comfortable, which as you may be able to tell is a big thing for me!! They also remind me of Valentino shoes because of the studs.Photo 02-09-2017, 18 02 28I finished the look off with my Kate Spade purple handbag and Olivia Burton watch. This is the bag I use everyday because its big enough to fit in everything I need but its not too big for walking around all day. I also feel like it goes with pretty much anything. I have also been wearing my Olivia Burton watch a lot recently and I’ve been loving it. Its so pretty and if I could I would buy every single watch from them because they are all stunning.

Let me know what your favourite high street shops are at the moment. I would say mine is currently New Look.

Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow! <3

Hello lovelies! I can’t believe that we are nearly half way through February – time is going crazy fast! So I had a bit of a splurge this weekend and bought myself the b.e.a.utiful Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow. I have had my eye on this for a really long time so when I discovered that there is a Charlotte Tilbury counter in the Selfridges in Manchester Centre I knew it was fate ;)!

I think I spent about half an hour at the counter deciding what I wanted to take home with me. It was between one of the Luxury Eyeshadow palettes or the Filmstar Bronze and Glow. I ended up asking the sales assistants advice and she persuaded (there really wasn’t much persuading) me to get the Filmstar Bronze and Glow which may just happen to be one of the best decisions of my life – slight exaggeration I know but I am so pleased I bought it!

So lets start off with the packaging because you can’t not mention Charlotte Tilbury packaging, it is quite possibly the most beautiful packaging in the world – just to clarify that is not an exaggeration at all! It comes in the lovely rose gold packaging and just looks so classic! Definitely one that needs to be out on display rather than tucked away in your makeup bag! When you finally get to open it you are greeted not only by the lovely product but also a nice mirror that fills the whole inside so it is perfect for when you are on the go. It also had a cute little star in the top right hand corner which I find is such a nice touch! I literally cant stop looking at it!

I am going to start off with the bronzer. It’s not too dark which is perfect for light skin tones and gives you just the right amount of bronze! It also has a slight shimmer to it when you look at it closely but you can barely see that when you apply it to your face. I don’t know what this would be like on darker skin tones, personally I think it would be too light but the highlight is perfect for any skin tone! The highlighter just adds that beautiful glow to the skin that we all wish came naturally. Because the highlighter is such a natural colour you can also put it on your body as well as your face! On the Charlotte Tilbury website there is such a good video showing different ways you can use both the highlighter and bronzer – you can find that *here*.

Overall I am so glad I decided to buy this product! It is absolutely brilliant and I can see why everyone raves about it! It is quite expensive at £49.00 but I honestly think it is totally worth it I can see this lasting me such a long time! I recently did a makeup look and I used this you can find it *here*. The pictures really don’t do it justice but you can kind of see how it looks.

I hope you enjoyed this post! Have you used this before and if so what do you think of it?

See you soon!

So Many High Street Foundations!

Hello lovelies! I hope you had a good weekend! I am doing a bit of a different post today because when it comes to foundations I think it can be a bit of a minefield! There are so many different brands to choose from, so many colours and then there is all the questions like whats the coverage like, how long does it last, is it better for oily skin, dry skin etc.. The list of questions goes on! So I have decided to do this post to not only help me decide which one to try next but also to help you guys just incase you are in a bit of a dilemma on which high street foundation to try next so you don’t end up spending a lot of money on something that’s not really that great.

So these are the four that I have chosen –

Foundation Collaga

Have you used any of these foundations? Please share your comments below and we can all help each other to possibly find the best foundation for us!

I hope you liked this post and it has helped you in some way! Let me know if you like the idea of this post as well and I might do some more on different beauty products including drugstore products.

See you soon.

Rachel 🙂
